Happy Mother's Day.

This day is has a twinge of bittersweetness to it for me. It's my first Mother's with Scout * outside of the belly * and my 3rd without my mom. I've always loved Mother's Day. At first ,as a teen, it was a day for me to be mushy about my mom without getting flack from my "cool" friends and also a way to score brownie points. As I got older it became a special day to show my mom how great I thought she was. Seriously, my mom freaking rocked. She was funny, smart and tough as nails.
As a mommy, this is a day to celebrate my child. He made me a mommy. Thank you Monkey for being my son.I've been your mommy for 11 months as of today and it has been the hardest most beautiful time of my life. My heart is overwhelmed with love because of you.

So today I want to thank my mom and my son for making me the mommy I am. I only hope that both of you are proud of me and I do you two justice.

I hope all of the Moms out there have a beautiful day.
