Easy Felt Headband!

Look what I can do!!

I was sooooo inspired by Mama Jill that I had to make my own felt flower headband. It was super easy. Here's the link to Mama Jill's blog so you can follow her awesome directions. I'm only semi-awesome at this. :) Mama Jill's awesomeness You should visit her blog because I didn't photograph EVERY step like she did and the pictures helped me sooooo much.

This craft is super easy and cute!

Here's what you need:
Supplies:
felt sheet
headband pack
beads or maybe a button
hot glue gun
glue stick
scissors
shape to trace
marker

Here's what you do:
Get 3 shapes out and trace them on your felt. I traced some flower shaped decorations and freehanded my shapes. Cut them out.

Place them how you want them BEFORE you glue them so you know how they will look.
Put a glob of glue in the middle of your biggest felt "flower".
Place the middle sized one on top of it.
Then repeat with the smallest one.

Put a small dab of glue on the very middle of the finished flower. Add beads.

Get your felt scraps and cut a square out.

Add a glob of glue and attach your headband and hold it for a minuit so it sets.
After it has dried a little bit. Add more glue like above.
Enough for your felt square to secure the felt flower to the headband.
Now put your square on and you're done!!!
After a minute or two I started to feel REALLY silly taking my picture but I want you all to be able to see the headband in all it's cuteness! :P

Really this headband is super easy. I made 2 in less than 30 minutes. I made the purple and grey one. I love them both. I wore the grey one today and I'm going to rock the purple one tomorrow.

Goal: Read 100 Books this year

I don't know if any of you will remember but I made a few goals instead of resolutions. One of them was to read 100 books this year. That works out to be about two a week. Was I NUTS?!?!? What was I thinking?!? I work full time, have an almost 2 year old and a MILLION other things to do and take care of like 10 loads of laundry a week.Surprisingly I am making good progress on this goal. So far I have read 17 books! In about 12 weeks!!! Wow! I'm kinda proud of myself. I'm currently reading A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. I'm really enjoying it! Next up is a classic Dracula by Bram Stoker.

Paying forward.

I totally stole this from Janette. I had to. I'm blog-dead. It's sort of like being brain-dead but instead I'm blog dead, as in I have NOTHING to blog about. My life is pretty average. Nothing happens for weeks and thus I haven't been inspired. I also haven't been very crafty lately. In effort to fix at least one of those issues; I'm paying it forward.

Birthday Bucket List

I turned 29 yesterday. This is my last birthday before I turn 30. I started thinking about all the things I haven't done yet and all the things I want to do. Here's a few things on my bucket list..

1. Go to Ireland.
2. Go to New York.
3. Write a book of any kind.
4. Change someone's life for the better.
5. Get my freaking degree finished!
6 .See all of my favorite bands live. * Ok, so I won't be able to see The Beatles live but I have hope to see the other bands. ;)
7. Have my own business. I love the idea of owning and running a B&B or bookstore, daycare/preschool or a tattoo parlor.
8. Get married
9. Have one more child
10. Complete a March for Dimes walk.

That's only a few of the things on my list. Some are more personal and some are just silly but they are my hopes and daydreams.

What's on your bucket list?

Waffles or Pankcakes?

I've come to the conclusion that there are two types of people in this world. There are the pancake people and waffle people. I am a waffle person.

In my opinion waffles are far superior to pancakes. Waffles have little pockets were the butter and syrup pool and yet they keep their crispiness. If you have a really yummy waffle it doesn't even need syrup. Pancakes do not hold the syrup. They just get soggy.

That being said here is my super yummy waffle reciepe to share with you!

Belgian Waffles

2 cups cake flour (I use all-purpose flour instead)

1 tablespoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup buttermilk

1 cup milk

2 eggs

1/4 cup melted unsalted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla

In a large bowl, stir together the dry ingredients. Make a well in the center and add the buttermilk, milk, vanilla, eggs, and melted butter. Mix together just until combined (DON'T OVERMIX THE BATTER!). The batter should look slightly lumpy. Makes 4-5 waffles.

The vanilla makes it!!
